Dearly Beloved
Calvary greetings in Jesus name. We rejoice greatly at your consistent partnership to see the Lordship of Jesus enthroned in the unreached nations of the world. It was a difficult and challenging quarter but thank God who consistently gives us victory through your prayers and support.
At the beginning of this quarter, four missionaries of Sojourners Mission Kachia – Kaduna State, Nigeria were drowned while crossing the river to another village for an outreach. For many days we could only pray, mourn, weep and asked why? Sad news but God knows the best. May their souls rest in perfect peace Amen.
SUPPORT FROM OREGON, USA PARTNERS
Our partners in Oregon, United States of America sent in mission materials consisting of clothes, shoes, bible,toys,books etc for various mission fields. Despite all odds in transportation, many lives were touched in Benue, Kwara, Fct, Taraba,Adamawa States, North central and Eastern Nigeria through this kind gesture.
Many children in these villages go naked and barefooted including elderly ones.Please pray along with us after receiving these gifts and accepting Christ, they will not draw back but attract others who have not tasted the goodness of Christ.
SEMINARS/WORKSHOP
We organized seminar/workshop (15th-19th may 2013) for missionaries and their wives in Garin-Garuba, Taraba Stats and it was a huge success. It was held in collaboration with Global World Outreach International, Jos which attracted many participants from mission fields in Benue and Taraba states. The seminar has come and gone but the impact will remain indelible. Many of the participants testified of personal encounter with God. We are certain that this will accelerate the speed of the end time harvest in the dark places of the world. We took time to pray for the kingdom of God to be enthroned in unreached nations.
We had mission awareness seminars in some churches this quarter under review with very good response. Pray that results will mature into fruition. Our goal is to raise people who will run with this missionary vision to several unreached nations of the world.
REVIVAL/OUTREACHES-
We had several revival and outreach programs across Benue, Taraba and Adamawa states. Many villages were discovered with no church,school, clinic,water, electricity and good roads. Children wake up in the morning with no future, but to eat their “routine’ unbalanced diet. As a result many cases of kwashiorkor is prevalent among the children. We were highly encouraged in kufai village in Taraba state and mahia in Adamawa state where the church was standing firm despite their pastors absconding from the mission fields due to poverty.
The revival/outreach programs recorded many souls who gave their lives to Christ. There are multiple cases of healing and deliverance. For instance, in kuzim village in Taraba state an elderly man who was bedridden with swollen head and eye lose hope of living but got healed after we ministered to him in prayers. There were other similiar testimonies of the divine interventions across our revival and outreaches programs. We give God all the glory for drawing men to His kingdom.
Success goes with challenges- the muslims in these villages are mounting substantive pressure on the converts with material things. Pray that they will stand firm in their new found faith.
MISSIONARIES SUPPORTS
By His grace, we continue to give stipend to support missionaries on the mission fields in the Northern part of Nigeria on monthly basis. As more funds are available more missionaries will benefit for effective and efficient missionary work.
PRAYER NEEDS
We covet your prayers in these areas-
– Much of our travels were cut down this quarter due to lack of mission outreach vehicle. We had to hire motorbikes to covey the material support from Oregon partners to the villages where vehicles cannot reach.
– A missionary is in urgent need of a motorbike to help him cover some of these villages. Also missionary needs a bicycle in order to reduce trekking to some villages on Sundays to disciple the new converts due to lack of missionaries to man those places.
– There is also an urgent need for more staff/workers for the office.
– More missionaries on the fields to extend His kingdom.
– Pray for funds to meet all these needs.
– Pray for God’s protection and that our mission outreaches will gain more speed this coming quarter and beyond.
